Global Partnership | Overseas Network of JoongAng Ilbo
In order to provide our domestic readers with international news coverage and in turn domestic news to our
overseas readers, JoongAng Ilbo has put into place the most comprehensive system of alliances between a
domestic Korean newspaper and foreign news providers. One of the most visible results of this effort is
our partnership with the
International Herald Tribune to produce an English version of JoongAng Ilbo.
The International Herald Tribune(IHT)-JoongAng Daily
JoongAng Ilbo prints an English-language edition in conjunction with its publication of the global newspaper, the International
Herald Tribune(IHT).
The English edition contains 24 pages of the Asia-Pacific edition published by IHT and includes an 8-page section
featuring the English edition of JoongAng Ilbo.
This unique format meets the needs of a previously unfilled market by providing complete international and Korean news in
English.
About The International Herald Tribune
IHT has over 110 years of publishing tradition to its credit.
In 1967 The Washington Post and New York Times acquired shares in the company and its operations and later completed its
acquisition in 1991. IHT's headquarters is based in Paris with bureaus in New York, London, Frakfurt, Hong Kong, and
Singapore, providing major news stories to readers throughout the world.
Newsweek-Korean Edition
The Korean-language edition of 'Newsweek' is published by JoongAng Ilbo Media International(JMI).
